A prostatic stone develops in the prostate gland

A prostatic stone in the prostate gland (prostatic calculus) usually occurs as a result of chronic prostatitis (infection of the prostate gland).

They do not usually cause symptoms, are found as an incidental finding when an ultrasound scan is performed of the gland, and require no treatment.
