Testosterone/Epitestosterone Ratio

Testosterone/Epitestosterone Ratio

Testosterone/Epitestosterone Ratio is measured to identify whether athletes are doping

The testosterone/epitestosterone ratio in a urine sample is a test for testosterone doping in sport. The result should be a ratio of less than 6. If the ratio is high it indicates that extra testosterone has been injected or taken as an aid to sporting performance. This is referred to as doping.

Both testosterone and epitestosterone are produced by the testes. If extra testosterone is added the ratio will be abnormal.
